We are delighted to announce that the much-awaited youth project, “Worcation,” will start on Saturday, 29th July 2023! This exciting initiative will bring together talented and passionate young individuals from four countries: Polanda, Germany, Ukraine, and Italy.

Event Details:

  • Start Date: 29th July 2023
  • End Date: 12th August 2023
  • Location: Europastadt Görlitz/Zgorzelec
  • Duration: 15 days of cross-cultural exploration and collaboration

 

Purpose and Vision: The primary goal of the “Worcation” project is to foster cross-cultural understanding, creative expression,  and historical appreciation among the youth. Through engaging workshops in archaeology, theater, and art, participants will embark on a journey of discovery, learning, and meaningful connections.

The Journey Ahead: For the next 15 days, our enthusiastic participants will be divided into three immersive workshops:

1. Archaeology Workshop: Unearthing the Past Led by experienced archaeologist, this workshop will lead participants on an exhilarating excavation journey at the historically significant site of Stalag VIII A. Together, they will uncover buried artifacts, exploring the layers of history beneath their feet.

2. Theater Workshop: Emotions Unleashed Under the guidance of seasoned theater mentor, the Theater group will delve deep into the historical accounts of Stalag VIII A. Through the power of storytelling and performance, they will convey the experiences of the past, breathing life into the untold narratives.

3. Art Workshop: Colors of Expression The Art workshop will provide a space for young artists to channel their imaginative energies into creating impactful art pieces. Inspired by the historical context of Stalag VIII A, their creations will reflect the essence of history, culture, and shared humanity.

Save the Date: Closing Ceremony We cordially invite everyone to join us for the closing ceremony of the “Worcation” project. This event will be a celebration of the collaboration, creativity and personal growth achieved by our talented participants throughout their journey.
